Spotted in Dots at Heritage Coffee

Hey y’all! I can’t believe August is already coming to a close. I’m already getting ready to start the new semester, but I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet! I’ve always been a huge fan of polka dots, they’re so cute and feminine, and I’ve already started to see them everywhere for this fall.

Favorite Sundresses for Summer

Summer is in full swing, and in the Windy City, this entails everything from dreamy picnics on the lakefront to lively (and sweaty) afternoons spent day-drinking at street festivals. Whatever the activity, you can count on me wearing my favorite summer staple, the sundress¬†ūüėć.¬†For me, there is nothing that screams “summer” quite like a sundress. It’s breezy and comfy to keep you cool on the hottest days, and so easy to just throw on and look stylish without having to do too much work.

L.A. Photo Diary

Happy Saturday y’all! I just¬†came back from my birthday trip to L.A., and my sorta-tanned-but-mostly-pale self is already missing that California sun (flying back home to rainy Seattle is no fun). The last time I was in LA was when I was in 6th grade for a trip to Disneyland.¬†But since we spent most of our time in Disneyland, I didn’t get the chance to experience the city, so I was really excited to go back and do all the touristy LA things I’ve never seen before.

Tip Toe Through the Tulips

Hey everyone! Hope ya’ll had a happy Easter weekend and a very happy Monday. I never really do anything special for Easter, but this weekend my family and I decided to go to the annual Tulip Festival a short¬†drive¬†away¬†in¬†Mount Vernon. This was my first trip to see the tulips,¬†and I remember seeing pictures from when my sister went last year, and I was so jealous! I love flowers so much, and to be in a field of vibrant tulips is what dreams are made of.

A Weekend in Leavenworth

Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone is has¬†been having a¬†good week so far. I just started my Spring quarter this week, after not being in school¬†since last spring, so it’s been pretty weird re-adjusting to getting up at 6 AM everyday and trying to balance class, work, and blogging (as well as designated Netflix time, am I right folks!?) Anyhow, it’s been pretty busy around here lately, and I never thought I would say it, but I’m so happy to be back in school! And all this work talk has got me¬†reminiscing¬†about¬†our relaxing weekend trip to Leavenworth with¬†Tuyet, Devin, and our friend Vincent.

Triple Berry Cheesecake

For those of you who didn’t know, last week was Devin’s 30th birthday! Devin is my super cool brother-in-law, and I wanted to bake him something yummy¬†for his special day. Normally, for a birthday I would go for a more traditional birthday cake (mmmm… chocolate, anyone?), but if you knew Devin, you would know that he loooooves his cheesecake.¬†The original recipe for this berry cheesecake can be found on¬†Will Cook For Smiles, although I did modify the cooking times as well as the berry compote.

Sheer Top with Chelsea28

I know I’m a bit late on this trend, but I have been so obsessed with this sheer shirt by Chelsea28 I got from Nordstrom. I’ve been seeing¬†sheer everywhere lately, and to be honest,¬†I was a bit hesitant about it at first, but after I tried it on I was in love! The gossamer fabric gives it the perfect femme fatale flair, and the frills in the front of the shirt provides that extra delicate detail, as well as a bit of coverage. I paired this top with a black strapless bralette, black denim, and a leather jacket, which gave my outfit an overall casual-cool look, perfect for a night out. Read More

Washington, D.C. Photo Diary

Did anyone else grow up thinking Washington, D.C. was in the state of Washington? No? Me neither… (I thought D.C. was in Washington state up until the 3rd grade! I blame the school system!) But really, I’ve never been to D.C. before, and all I really knew about it was what I’ve seen in House of Cards and in that one episode of Parks and Recreations where¬†Chris Pratt looks at the Capitol and says, “That building looks like a boob.” Haha, but seriously, I’ve always wanted to visit D.C.!
