L.A. Photo Diary

Happy Saturday y’all! I just came back from my birthday trip to L.A., and my sorta-tanned-but-mostly-pale self is already missing that California sun (flying back home to rainy Seattle is no fun). The last time I was in LA was when I was in 6th grade for a trip to Disneyland. But since we spent most of our time in Disneyland, I didn’t get the chance to experience the city, so I was really excited to go back and do all the touristy LA things I’ve never seen before.

I was immediately struck by how colorful and vibrant everything is in LA. So many of the buildings and homes come in all the brightest colors, and there are beautiful murals painted on every street corner. I was so amazed by all of the gorgeous flowers and cacti covering the city. As a self identified plant lady, I was in paradise.

My favorite spot in Los Angeles was definitely the Griffith Observatory. It has a panorama view of the city and is a great spot to check out the Hollywood sign. Another reason I love LA is all the delicious food, especially brunch. My favorite brunch spot was the Cabana Cafe at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The food there was so fresh and tasty, and the avocado toast was the best I’ve ever had.

Everything about Los Angeles was so incredible; the sights, views, food, the people. It was a great way to celebrate my 20th birthday, and I can’t wait to go back.

  1. I used to live near LA. It was good to relive it through your pictures. Glad you had a happy birthday! (I still would have fit in a trip to Disney! *grin*)

  2. Ooh great picks and tips! I will be going to LA for a week in July (specifically Santa Monica) and again to Mission Hills for 2 weeks in August! I can’t wait to visit some of these places

  3. I miss LA. It was my favorite place to live. I think a lot of people who visit have no idea what a gem it is. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

  4. These photos are gorgeous! A friend of mine is currently in LA. I’m currently ready to jump on a plan now especially after seeing your photos!
